The yeast fungus Candida auris, described by scientists just ten years ago, over the past two to three years has led to several outbreaks of candida infection among people, and in a number of cases the sick could not be saved. According to quite convincing hypothesis, global warming helped this fungus become pathogenic. It seems that a new pathogen appeared literally out of nowhere and quickly spread throughout the world. We decided to find out in more detail what is known about this pathogen, what are the hypotheses of its origin and whether it is found in Russia. In addition, from our material you can find out why fungal infections are generally dangerous, what other types of infections they are, and why the high level of development of medicine is also to blame for their spread.
