Researchers from the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne 10 years ago created the global Blue Brain Project, a brain-modeling project in which they attempted to create digital copies of parts of the brain. This time, scientists presented a digital reconstruction of a section of a rat's brain containing 31 thousand neurons, 55 layers of cells and 207 different subtypes of neurons.
