A traditional chemical bond looks like a spring connecting two atoms in a molecule. This bond allows the molecule to be somewhat flexible and even allows some of its fragments to rotate. For example, if you take a water molecule H2O, you will find that the bonds in it vibrate. At the same time, chemical bonds prevent parts of the molecule from moving freely relative to each other.
