The MindCopy computational core has moved to a full electrodiffusion description. Electric currents and potentials are now computed directly from ion movement — via the Nernst–Planck equations, and the extracellular potential via the Poisson equation — instead of cable equations with fixed resistances.
New biological mechanisms have been added:
- 18 new modifiers — nociceptive sodium channels (Nav1.7/1.8/1.9), TRP thermosensors (TRPV1/TRPM8/TRPA1/TRPV3), KCNQ4, Nav1.3, Kir7.1, TRPC6/7, CALHM1/3, OTOP1, ENaC.
- Neurotransmitter transporters — neuronal (EAAT3/GlyT2/GAT1) and glial (GLAST/GlyT1/GAT3) — honest clearance of neurotransmitters from the synaptic cleft.
- AQP4 water channel — osmotic water transport in glial cells.
- Realistic dendrite morphology — branching (Rall 3/2 model) and dendrite tapering, distal tuft.
- Axon initial segment (AIS) — action potential initiation with literature-based potassium channel densities (Kv1.1/Kv1.2/Kv7).
- Myelination — nodes of Ranvier with alternating myelinated and unmyelinated segments.
